On Taste of the World Madagascar you will learn and experience among other things:

You might be a food-loving and active person, curious about different flavors and food experiences, or maybe you just want to learn how to cook.
Daily life on Taste of the World Madagascar
A typical day on the program is cooking in the kitchen or teaching and discussions in the classroom with various topics, challenges around food, food cultures and traditions. Study trip to Outside we like to cook on the grill, cooking pit, campfire or camp stove. Madagascar requires that we’re in good shape, so during the school year we include time for both hikes and training sessions and various activities like cycling, beach volleyball and disc golf, to name a few.
The program requires no prior knowledge about food, but it would be a big advantage if you love food and like to stay active.

We eat our way through good local food, experience local food culture and various food markets.
The program day by day:
- Day 1: Travel day, Bergen - Antananarivo Madagascar
- Day 2 - 3: Acclimatization in Madagascar's capital Antananarivo. Cultural exploration and relaxation. We get used to the people, food and culture.
- Day 4: We continue to Antsirabe, where we drive through many small villages and mountain landscapes with rice plantations among other things
- Day 5 - 7: Antsirabe. Museum, explore food market, eat classic Malagasy food.
- Day 8: Antsirabe – Ambalakely. We absorb impressions and learning from the culture and people.
- Day 9 - 12: Ambalakely. We take a breather with some quiet days. Ambalakely is a peaceful mountain village where they produce tea, rice, potatoes and more. Here we will live the simple life with pure food, beautiful nature and a fantastic people. Maybe we can cook for the local population too?
- Day 13: Ambalakely- Ambalavao – Ranohira. What is Madagascar without lemurs? We visit a lemur reserve.
- Day 14: Ranohira. Isalo. We visit Isalo National Park. Here there will be mountain hiking, swimming in water sources from waterfalls and encounters with at least 3 different lemur species.
- Day 15: Ranohira- Toliara- Ifaty.
- Day 16 - 19: We end the adventure in Ifaty with relaxation on perhaps the world's finest beaches, swimming and water skiing if you dare. The days in Ifaty will also be used for reflection and summary of all the impressions.
- Day 20: Ifaty- Antananarivo. We fly back to Antananarivo
- Day 21: Home travel day
Program Teacher Ørjan Teigland
Ørjan is a travel-loving chef with many years of experience. He is passionate about good and exciting flavors, and especially exploring food from around the world. Ørjan is active and loves nature. He is into sports and outdoor activities and never says no to a challenge. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience! He is a mood lifter at the school and creates a good atmosphere around him.
