The teaching
At Your Future, the days are about getting to know yourself better, building self-confidence, and discovering new aspects of life. We explore what it means to live well – physically, mentally, socially, and financially. Through conversations, reflection, and practical exercises, you get space to develop your own values and strengthen belief in your choices.
You don’t just learn to cope – but to thrive! Everything from cooking, redesign, and personal finance to mindfulness and stress management gives you tools you can take with you into studies, work, and adult life.
It’s not just about developing yourself – but also about contributing to others. We practice collaboration, communication, and how we can contribute positively in communities. Through solidarity projects and fundraising campaigns, we engage the school and local community. You’ll experience how community, volunteering, and engagement can create ripple effects far beyond the school.
The course has its own classroom that often transforms into a yoga studio or a meditation oasis. We also use the school kitchen and the school’s course center. The very best “classroom” is outdoors, and we regularly use the beautiful nature in Bergen. We often go on excursions, for example to a yoga studio in Bergen.
Guest instructors
The year will offer teaching from skilled teachers and inspiring guest instructors, including young entrepreneurs who have followed their dreams and started their own businesses. What’s it like to start your own business? What does everyday life look like as your own boss? What financial challenges can you expect along the way?
Through exciting workshops, you’ll gain insight into these questions and learn from the best.
One of those we’ll have the pleasure of meeting is Helene Danielsen (25) who has practiced yoga all her life and runs the yoga center Time for Yoga in central Bergen.
Martin Skadal is from Bergen and is described as both a social entrepreneur, activist, public speaker, and podcaster. He is passionate about the preservation of people, animals, and nature.

Study trip: Italy
It’s fun to watch movies about distant and exotic cultures, but it’s even better to experience them yourself! The class trips will give you the opportunity to try new flavorful dishes, see fantastic nature, and feel what it’s like to live in other countries. The trips only last a few weeks, but the memories will last a lifetime!
Already in the fall, we pack our suitcases and travel to Italy – the country known for its unparalleled beauty, rich history, and not least, food!
We first travel to the Solopaca area where the team at Ulivieti is ready to welcome us: Ulivieti Castelsanmartino
Since the time of the Roman Empire, Italy has played a crucial role in the development of our Western civilization. We will experience some of the country’s history and enjoy the sight of magnificent nature, fantastic art, and impressive architecture. We will experience Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, as well as walk through the streets and admire the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
Italian cuisine is world-renowned, and no trip to Italy is complete without gastronomic food experiences. Good, tasty, and exciting food is everywhere! Here you can admire the Colosseum after a delicious pasta meal, or go exploring in charming small streets while snacking on cheese and prosciutto – and don’t forget the gelato!
Pack sunscreen, a sense of adventure, good shoes, and a camera, and get ready to be enchanted!

Study trip: Sri Lanka
In the spring, we’re going on another trip! We’re heading to Sri Lanka in collaboration with the aid organization FORUT.
Sri Lanka is located in the Indian Ocean, east of India, and is often called the Teardrop of India. The country’s most fantastic sights include high mountains, white beaches, herds of wild elephants, rolling hills, and rainforests.
The climate is tropical. We can expect 25-30 degrees while enjoying nature up close, climbing the historic Sigiriya rock, exploring the Temple of the Tooth, and experiencing the culture in the big cities of Colombo and Kandy.
FORUT has been working in Sri Lanka for more than 40 years and knows the country and its people very well. We are so fortunate that we are not just tourists, but get to visit several of FORUT’s projects around the island.
This trip will be a lifetime experience, and many will certainly have a desire to return to Sri Lanka later.

This is what the students say
The trip to Italy was absolutely magical! First, we were in a small town where we learned about olive production and helped with the olive harvest. It’s quite fascinating how olives are harvested and pressed into oil. I learned what affects the taste of the oil, and it was interesting to sample different qualities. I enjoyed the lively, open, and direct culture – people weren’t afraid to make contact.
In Rome, it was fantastic to see people gather and dance to live music on the street. I really love sun and shopping, so this was truly a place for me. It was exciting to hear about the history of sculptures, churches, and magnificent buildings. I love thinking about how they managed to create such masterpieces over a thousand years ago.
All the food was delicious! My best food experience has to be the pizza – it didn’t disappoint at all. The trip became a shared experience where I got closer to my classmates.
The study trip was an amazing experience and it’s memories for life!
In this program, we learn to work with the future and how we can influence it, make wise choices, and become more independent. We work on communication, opening up, and getting good at managing stress. I feel like I learn something new every day, both about myself and others! Plus, we get to experience some amazing trips. The trip to Italy early in the year helped us quickly become a really close-knit class. If you want to develop yourself and are unsure about what you want to do, I would really recommend a year in Your Future!
The Your Future program is a completely unique program that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Here we work with everything from personal development and yoga to food rescue and business management. When I applied, I chose this program because it included cooking. I was unsure if I would like the other things that were part of the program, but I quickly discovered that both yoga and meditation are things I enjoy, even though I had never tried them before. Teacher Angela always brings good energy and is really good at teaching what she knows.
