Åsane Folk High School is idyllically located with a beautiful view of the fjord, just a short drive from Åsane center and the city of Bergen.
During school holidays, we rent out school buildings and dormitories for courses and other events. We have several regular guests who return every year.

The school has a sports cage, gymnasium, and fitness room at your disposal.
Accommodation
Åsane Folk High School has seven dormitory buildings. Each building consists of eight to twelve double rooms. Typically, two rooms share a bathroom and toilet. We also have a limited number of single rooms. In the dormitories, you’ll find a small kitchen with cooking facilities and a refrigerator, and a pleasant common room in each dormitory.
Meals
If desired, meals can be prepared in the school’s professional kitchen by skilled chefs and enjoyed together in the school’s pleasant dining hall. Please note that the school is drug-free and alcohol cannot be served on our premises.
Outdoors
- In the school’s outdoor area, there are opportunities for grilling, ball games, and play. Just below the school, you’ll also find a small sandy beach.
- In the local area, there are many great hiking trails, whether you want to go to the mountains or use the small roads and walking paths in the immediate vicinity of the school. Åsane’s highest mountain, Hylkjeveten (486 meters above sea level), is located in the school’s immediate vicinity and is a popular summit hike.
- In the center of Åsane, you’ll find several sports halls offering climbing, ice hockey, beach volleyball, curling, gymnastics, skating, squash, and much more.
- A short distance to Western Norway’s golf gem, Meland Golf. Voted Norway’s best course in 2007.
