- Exploration and experimentation
- Community and collaboration
- From idea to finished product
Want to explore the borderland between technology, design, and sustainability?
In the Technology and Design program, you get to reuse electronics and transform them into something completely new and unique. Experience the joy of creating useful and stylish objects – all while learning soldering techniques, troubleshooting, and how to think holistically about design and environment.
Redesign
Electronics make up a large portion of today’s waste. Through redesign and repair, you help reduce environmental impact. The program combines reuse with technical insight, letting you explore sustainable alternatives to the “buy and throw away” culture.
Teaching
In the program, you get to disassemble, test, and explore how things actually work. Here we take old radios, DVD players, game consoles, TVs, lamps, or PC parts that would otherwise be thrown away, and give them new life. The result? One part invention, one part artwork – and lots of mastery!
We start at your level, whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience. You’ll be surprised how quickly you get into both technology and design with the right guidance and an inspiring learning environment.
Daily life in Technology and Design
The Technology and Design classroom also functions as a workshop and workspace that you have access to every day. Here you have your own workspace where you can work on your projects. Most assignments are project-based, and students work either alone or in small groups.
Through guidance from engaged teachers, you get to discover new techniques and build something you’re truly passionate about. Each assignment ends with a group review where we share the experiences we’ve gained.
